Mehdi Saadian

Mehdi Saadian is a highly qualified jewellery appraiser, specialising in diamonds, coloured stones, and pearls. With a wealth of experience and a deep knowledge of gemstone quality and valuation, Mehdi offers expert services in jewellery appraisal, diamond grading, and pearls assessment.

Mehdi holds multiple prestigious qualifications, including Graduate Gemologist (GG) from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), Graduate Pearls (2021), and Certificate of Appraisal Theory from the National Association of Jewellers (2019). He also completed courses in gemstones, diamond grading, and pricing through the Asian Institute of Gemological Sciences (AIGS).

Since 2021, Mehdi has been providing professional jewellery appraisal services and consultancy through Jewellery Advisory Services (JAS), where he also acts as an Expert Witness in cases involving high-profile criminal investigations. He is a lecturer on diamonds, pearls, and coloured stones.

Mehdi’s expertise extends to assessing contemporary jewellery, diamonds, coloured gemstones, and cultured pearls, ensuring their quality and value are accurately determined for insurance, probate, and division of assets purposes. He has worked on significant cases, including those recommended by the National Crime Agency (NCA) and HMRC’s Fraud Investigation Service (FIS).

As the Vice Chair of the National Association of Jewellers (NAJ) and a full member of the Academy of Experts (TAE), Mehdi is actively involved in shaping industry standards and contributing to appraisal knowledge.

He has also contributed to the ISA Resource Guide for Appraising Gems & Jewelry, a vital resource for professional appraisers.
